I know I hardly ever update, and I'm only around LJ when I WANT something, but bear with me for a moment, won't you?

I don't talk about family on here a lot, but I'm very very VERY proud of my one and only baby brother, who is, among other things (such as gifted with an acerbic wit much like my own), an AMAZING guitarist. His band, Down From Up, has an album available on iTunes, and this fall they're headed to Afghanistan to play in a USO tour for the troops. And probably smoke a LOT of weed while they're at it.

Aaaanyway... DFU has the chance to play as the opening pre-show band at the upcoming Rock Against Diabetes benefit in Las Vegas, and if you go HERE, you can scroll down and vote for them, and maybe help boost their chances. double also - i doubt if there's anything i can say about SPN 3x03 that hasn't already been repeated ad nauseum, but i fear that the squee can no longer be contained:

b. omg, HIS LITTLE FACE! (this is the 12,744th time i've said/typed that, btw.) oh, jared. you have made leaps and bounds since your GG days, and as much as i love sam's emo, you should get to be funny ALL the damn time.

c. effing PERFECT in almost every way. i think that 'bad day at black rock' is currently tied with 'nightshifter' (another ben edlund joint, surprise-surprise), for my mostest favorite ep of all time. and it just occurred to me that sam acts all of five years old in 'nightshifter', too. ben, i'm sensing a THEME here...
